Success of Turkish Students in "Mathematics Olympiad"

Our country is represented in the international scene with young scientists who were trained in our national teams within the scope of the International Science Olympics program conducted under TÜBİTAK Directorate of Science Fellowships and Grant Programmes (BİDEB).

Turkey got the 4th degree in the “35th Balkan Mathematics Olympiad” held in Serbia. Turkish students returned home with 4 silver and 1 bronze medals. 18 country team participated in the 35th Balkan Mathematics Olympiad held in the capital city of Serbia, Belgrad, in early May. The team including Nurullah Giray Kuru from İstanbul High School, Halil Alperen Gözeten and Halil Özkan from Private Final Anatolian High School, Özgen Şafak Karakuş from Private Antalya Final Science High School, Ömer Topaloğlu from Private İzmir Science High School, Mehmet Ali Yıldırım from Private Florya Final Anatolian High School represented Turkey in the competition. Nurullah Giray Kuru, Halil Alperen Gözeten, Özgen Safak Karakuş and Ömer Topaloğlu won silver medals as Mehmet Ali Yıldırım won the bronze medal. Turkey ranked 4th according to the scores in the competition.
