TÜBİTAK will give €5050 salary to the incoming Researchers from Abroad to Turkey with the call “International Experienced Researcher Support Program”

 

President of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal has made a statement about the call "International Experienced Researchers Support Program", which aims to encourage qualified scientists from abroad to conduct research in the academies and industrial establishments in our country. Professor Mandal stated that “Our support program, which aims to support the experienced researchers in their fields to convey their research projects in Turkey's leading academic and industry institutions, to make our country a center of attraction for experienced, to provide support to qualified researchers who want to return home country, and to contribute to the development of R&D human resources, is open for applications by the 2nd of August, 2018.”

Approximately half of the new call’s budget is covered by the European Commission

 

The total budget of the '2236-International Experienced Researchers Support Program', which is awarded with the second place among the 81 projects presented by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) to the European Commission, is approximately 14 million Euros. Nearly half of the project’s budget is covered by the European Commission, while the rest is covered by TÜBİTAK. In addition to the gross monthly salary of € 5050, each researcher will be supported by € 800 per month for research and training expenses, in scope of the project. While stating that roaming support is added to the newly opened call, Mandal also said that the researchers supported by the project can go to other institutions in Turkey or abroad for 6 months, when they need. During 5 years, including 25 researchers on each call, which will open 4 times a year, a total of 100 researchers from abroad will be encouraged to conduct research in leading academic and industrial organizations in Turkey.

The program also encourages researchers from abroad to work in industrial organizations in Turkey

 

Within the scope of the program, researchers with a doctoral degree or at least 4 years of research experience after the undergraduate degree can apply. The researchers, admitted at the university to conduct the study, should not stay in Turkey more than 12 months, over the last 3 years. Similarly, the applicants, who will conduct research on industrial organization, must not have residing in Turkey, more than 36 months in the last 5 years. Prof. Mandal stated that the conditions of the program are more flexible, in order to support experienced researchers in their field, to carry out the projects in Turkey's leading industrial organizations and institutions. Prof. Mandal also continued by saying that there are no limitations on the research subjects of researchers supported in scope of the project.
