President of TÜBİTAK Prof.Dr. Hasan Mandal visited Eskişehir Chamber of Industry

President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, came together with Eskişehir’s industrialists, entrepreneurs and academicians in order to introduce TUBITAK's current and new programs at Eskişehir Chamber of Industry. During Prof. Mandal’s visit, the President and members of Eskişehir Chamber of Industry, the President and Members of ESO Assembly, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology, authorities from Anadolu, Eskişehir Osmangazi ve Eskişehir Technical Universities, KOSGEB Eskişehir Provincial Director, BEBKA Secretary General and numerous Industrialists, entrepreneurs and academicians from ESKIŞEHIR were present.

 

“TUBITAK’s Important Projects Take Place in the Scope of 100-Day Action Plan”

President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Mandal started his speech by stating that his hometown is also Eskişehir, and then expressing that Eskişehir's industry has made significant contributions to the country's economy. While starting his presentation by giving information about TÜBİTAK, Prof. Mandal, by mentioning TÜBİTAK ARDEB, TEYDEB, BİDEB ve BİTO’s general supports, the amount transferred from these programs in 2002 was 154 million TL, it increased 11 times in 2017 and reached 1.6 billion TL, he said.

Prof. Mandal, evaluating Eskişehir’s applications to TUBITAK’s Programmes, stated that 428 project applications were made from Eskişehir to TUBITAK’s Support Programmes which ranks at 9th in Turkey.

 

“We Need To Focus On The Target Of Transition To The High-Tech Group”

Expressing that the main problem in our country is the output in the industry, TUBITAK’s President then stated that we are in the process of transition from medium low technology group to medium high technology group in our industry and that our country's high-tech focus should be strengthened. President of TUBITAK indicating that support systems in Turkey are designed more input-oriented, and one of the main problems in Turley in the field of R&D activities are the lack of commercialization activities as a result of R&D and innovation, he said.

 

New TUBITAK's Strategy for the Next Term: Qualified Knowledge and Qualified Person

Prof. Mandal who explains TUBITAK's strategy for the next term as qualified knowledge and qualified person focused on national targets in the research, technology development and innovation ecosystem, expressed TUBITAK has developed new support programs in addition to existing support programs in order to ensure this. While saying 1003 is for Academy, 1511 is for industry and 1007 is for public programmes, Prof. Mandal, also gave information about the industry PhD program and Industrial Innovation Network Mechanism (SAYEM) which will be explained soon, 1004 Excellence Center Support, Tech-InvesTR Turkey High Tech-Early Stage Investment Fund.

 

“We Are Bringing an Important Innovation About the Calls”

Prof. Mandal explained that starting from 2019, calls will be announced two years in advance for industrialists and entrepreneurs and thus would be seen by applicants in advance.

 

“We Have Set Up TEYDEB 2.0 to Bring Flexibility to Industry Support”

Professor Mandal announced that a new support system consisting of calls to be opened under two headings (Industry Supports, SADE and Interface Supports, AYDE) was created instead of 10 different support programs under a new structure which is designed as TEYDEB 2.0 with the aim of bringing flexibility and simplicity to TÜBİTAK's industrial supports.

After giving information about TUBITAK’s Institutes’ and TUBITAK’s important projects in the field of strategic areas such as defense, space, cybersecurity takes place in 100-Day Action Plan which was announced by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently, Prof. Mandal answered questions from participants.
