The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), to which TÜBİTAK was an associate member since August 29, 2016, accepted Turkey as SCAR full member. The application package prepared with the contributions of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute was discussed at the online delegate meeting held on March 23, 2021.
SCAR is the international umbrella organization for scientific studies in the Antarctic Region. It organizes research, working groups, collaborations, international conferences and many other events in many disciplines from life sciences to earth sciences, from physical sciences to social sciences.
