In line with the needs and priorities of our country, TUBITAK carries out the 2202 - Science Olympiads Program in order to encourage students to work in these fields, to guide their studies and to prepare them for national and international olympiads in order to create qualified human resources of critical importance in the fields of basic sciences and computers.
As of 2024, the branch of geography has been added to the science olympiads, and with the addition of this branch, which is an important branch of science for sustainable development, it will be possible to represent our country in international geography olympiads.
In addition, a training model for teachers was developed for the first time this year to add new ones to our teachers specialized in the field of Olympiad. Within the scope of this model, teachers who want to work in the Olympiad field will be able to take the First Stage Exam and successful teachers will be provided with free teaching and learning resources, including curriculum and professional development to help them gain theoretical, practical and career-related skills for Olympiad preparations at the national level.
This year, the Science Olympiad First Stage Exami in the fields of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Computer Science, Biology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Secondary School Computer Science, Secondary School Mathematics will be held for both students and teachers in 81 city centers and in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on May 18, 2024. (If the exam cannot be held in the requested exam center due to force majeure, the exam can be held in the exam center closest to the preferred exam center)
