2224-D - Grant Program for Participation in Scientific Education Activities Abroad

Successful students continuing their high school or undergraduate education are supported to participate in short-term scientific education activities such as internships and summer/winter schools abroad, in order to expand their social networks, get to know new cultures, develop their professional and technical skills, shape their careers, gain the ability to apply the knowledge they have acquired in the fields they have been educated, and concentrate their skills on certain subjects within the scope of the program.

Travel expense, participation fee and monthly support payment are provided for the students who want to participate in scientific education activities abroad.

Support to be given to people who will participate in scientific training events held abroad.

The amount of support to be given to individuals who will participate in scientific education activities organized abroad is determined by the BİDEB Group Executive Board (GYK). The support period is limited to the duration of the education, provided that it does not exceed 2 months. The support amount is 62 U.S. dollars per day.

1. Must be continuing high school education at TÜBİTAK Science High School or undergraduate education at a university in Türkiye, 
2. Must not have previously benefited from this program during their undergraduate education, 
3. As of the application date, must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of over 2.50/4.00 or a score over 65/100, 
4. Must fulfill one of the following foreign language requirements in the language of instruction: 

• Having obtained a score of at least 70 from one of the YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, e-YÖKDİL, or TIPDİL exams within the last 5 years as of the application year, or an equivalent score from a foreign language exam recognized as equivalent by ÖSYM within the last 2 years, 
• Being enrolled in an undergraduate program at a university where the language of instruction is 100% foreign language 

11. Must fulfill one of the conditions listed under articles a, b, c, d, e:

a. Having ranked in the top 25,000 in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) in TYT or Y-SAY score types for numerical programs, and in the TYT score type for verbal and equal-weight programs, and fulfilling one of the following conditions: 

• Being an ARDEB/BİDEB/TEYDEB scholar for at least six months as of the final day of the application date, 
• Having successfully completed one of the 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program or 2209-B University Students Industry-Oriented Research Projects Support Program, 
• Having received a degree in the final stage of the 2242 University Students Research Project Competitions Program, 
• Having achieved first, second, or third place in the final stage of the 2204-A High School Students Research Projects Competition, 2204-C High School Students Polar Research Projects Competition, or 2204-D High School Students Climate Change Research Projects Competition. 

b. Having won a gold, silver, or bronze medal as a result of the 2202-National Science Olympiads (excluding middle school level) second stage examination,

c. Having been successful in the 2202-National Science Olympiads (excluding middle school level) second stage examination and winning a gold, silver, or bronze medal in the International Science Olympiads where sent by TÜBİTAK,

d. Having been successful in the 2204-A High School Students Research Projects Competition and competing on behalf of our country in International Project Competitions where sent by TÜBİTAK, receiving a first, second, third, fourth place, or special award degree, 

e. Being a TÜBİTAK Science High School student within the scope of the "2249-Science and Technology Schools Program". 

12. As of the first day of the application, documenting acceptance to a summer/winter school or internship program in a field that will contribute to their education from an institution/organization that meets one of the following rankings in any of the last 3 years: 

• Top 250 universities in subject-based rankings (in main subject categories) conducted under the THE (Times Higher Education) or QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings studies, 
• Top 2,500 companies investing the most in R&D globally published by the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC), 
• Top 250 institutions in the health - higher education - public - private sub-fields in the Scimago institutions rankings, 
• Top investment-receiving successful start-up and unicorn companies: 
• "Unicorn" companies list published by CBInsights that reach a valuation of 1 billion USD or higher from the startup level, 
• Top 1,000 companies founded in the last 5 years and receiving the most investment in the last 5 years according to Crunchbase and CBInsights databases 

13. To be have current student status during the application period (Special status, passive students, School Of Foreign Languages students cannot apply to this program).

DUYURU (29.04.2025): 2025 yılı başvuruları başlamıştır.

2224-D Yurt Dışındaki Bilimsel Eğitim Etkinliklerine Katılımı Destekleme Programı 2025 yılı başvuruları açıldı. Başvurular 31 Aralık 2025 saat 17:30’a kadar TÜBİTAK Yönetim Bilgi Sistemi (TYBS) üzerinden alınacaktır.
