The CoCirculation 2 project has been completed, and the CoCirculation 3 Project has been awarded by the European Commission. Within the scope of this project, a total of 100 researchers will be supported over a period of 5 years through 3 separate calls. The project aims to enable experienced researchers to conduct their research projects at leading academic or industrial institutions in Türkiye.

The first call for the program will be open for applications between September and December 2025. Updates regarding the project will be available on this page throughout 2025.

Scope of Support

Program aims to:

  • Support experienced researchers in conducting their projects at leading academic or industrial institutions in Türkiye.

  • Position Türkiye as an attractive destination for experienced researchers.

  • Provide support to qualified researchers wishing to return to Türkiye.

  • Contribute to the development of R&D human resources of Türkiye.

  • Promote international and intersectoral mobility of researchers.

  • Support researchers’ career development through research and training opportunities.

Amount of the Support and Terms of Payment

Under the 2236-A Co-Funded Brain Circulation Scheme3 (CoCirculation 3) program researchers receiving support will be provided with: Researchers receiving support will be provided with:

  • A gross monthly salary of €4030,

  • €600 for family support,

  • €1000 for research, training, and networking activities.

Important Notes

Applications are open to researchers from all fields without restrictions on research topics. However, the research topics must align with the globally significant "Green Deal."

Under CoCirculation3, experienced researchers with doctoral degrees are expected to conduct their research projects at an academic or non-academic (industry etc.) institution in Türkiye for 24 months under the guidance of a supervisor. Applicants, regardless of nationality, must prove that they have not resided in Türkiye for more than 12 months within the last three years as of the relevant call deadline.

Who Can Apply?
  • Researchers with a doctoral degree from any field are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants must demonstrate that they have not resided in Türkiye for more than 12 months within the 3 years prior to the respective call dates.

  • Research projects must align with the "Green Deal."

Call Schedule
  • 1st Call: Opens on 1 September 2025, and closes in 28 November 2025. (33 researchers will be funded.)

  • 2nd Call: Opens on 3 August 2026, and closes in 30 October 2026. (33 researchers will be funded.)

  • 3rd Call: Opens on 1 July 2027, and closes in 30 September 2027. (34 researchers will be funded.)
