What is the Southeast Asia - Europe Joint Funding Scheme for Research and Innovation (SEA-EU JFS)?
SEA-EU JFS is a platform designed to foster collaboration between researchers and innovators from Europe and Southeast Asia. The program aims to address global challenges while supporting projects focused on scientific excellence and innovation.
Within the scope of SEA-EU JFS, calls are issued in thematic areas determined by the priorities of the participating countries. For more information, visit the SEA-EU JFS Calls Page: https://www.sea-europe-jfs.eu/calls. These innovative projects are expected to contribute to sustainable development both locally and internationally.
SEA-EU JFS is supported by the national funding organizations of the participating countries, and these organizations provide funding exclusively to partners from their respective countries ("No money crossing borders"). The program has been ongoing since 2017, funding high-quality projects selected from hundreds of applications.
Priority is given to projects that aim to establish long-term partnerships and address global challenges. Detailed information about the supported projects can be found on the Funded Projects Page: https://www.sea-eu-jfs.eu/funded-projects
Under the "2+1" rule, a consortium must include at least three partners from different countries: two from Southeast Asia and one from Europe, or vice versa.
Türkiye is considered among the European countries for this program.
To find suitable partners, form a consortium, and explore collaboration opportunities during the application process for SEA-EU JFS calls, visit the Partnering Tool: https://www.sea-europe-jfs.eu/info-partnering-tool
Under the SEA-EU JFS 2024 Call, collaborative projects developed by researchers from Europe and Southeast Asia in the thematic area of "Climate Change Adaptation and Urban Resilience" will be supported.
In this framework, research teams participating in project consortia are required to submit a joint application to SEA-EU JFS, in addition to submitting national applications to their respective funding organizations. Research teams from Türkiye participating in consortia must submit their applications to TÜBİTAK.
