2242 University Students Research Project Competitions, organized under the technical leadership of TÜBİTAK Directorate for Scientist Support Programs (BİDEB) and the overall coordination of the Directorate for Science and Society (BİTO), aim to encourage associate and undergraduate students to conduct research, contribute to Türkiye’s science-based knowledge and technology production, and support the development of qualified human resources in line with the National Technology Initiative. In 2026, the competition is organized in the following nine main fields and the thematic areas under these fields:
Smart Cities and Transportation
Information and Communication Technologies
Education
Energy and Environment
Food and Agriculture
Machinery Manufacturing and Automotive
Health
Defense, Space and Aviation
Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship
In the competition, which is open to associate and undergraduate students studying in Türkiye or abroad, teams that are successful in the Preliminary Evaluation stage have qualified to participate in the Final Evaluations to be held online.
Evaluation results are available on the Project Management System (PYS).
