Biotechnology Innovation Competition, conducted under the technical leadership of the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and coordinated by the Directorate for Science and Society, is organized to encourage studies in innovation and high technology, raise awareness across different fields of biotechnology, and support innovative ideas in this field. Biotechnology refers to the use of biological systems to develop new products, methods, and organisms aimed at improving human, animal, agricultural, and environmental well-being. Organized in 2026 in three different categories, namely the High School Category, University-Level Idea Category and University-Level Project Category, the competition expects the core component of the data, products, and processes developed within its scope to be based on biological systems.
The competition is open to high school, associate degree, bachelor’s degree and master’s degree students aged 14–30 studying in Türkiye or abroad. Teams that successfully passed the Detailed Project Report stage have qualified to participate in the Competition Finals. The finalist teams will present their projects to the evaluation jury during the Competition Finals.
