The Biotechnology Innovation Competition, organized under the technical leadership of TÜBİTAK MAM (Marmara Research Center) and the overall coordination of the Directorate for Science and Society (BİTO), aims to encourage studies in innovation and high technology, raise awareness in different fields of biotechnology, and support innovative ideas to be developed in this field. Biotechnology refers to the use of biological systems to develop new products, methods, and organisms aimed at improving human, animal, agricultural, and environmental well-being. Organized in 2026 in three different categories, namely the High School Category, University-Level Idea Category, and University-Level Project Category, the Biotechnology Innovation Competition expects the core components of the data, products, and processes developed within its scope to be based on biological systems.
The Biotechnology Innovation Competition is open to high school, associate, undergraduate, and graduate students aged 14–30 studying in Türkiye or abroad. Teams that have successfully passed the Project Preliminary Evaluation Report stage are now eligible to submit their Detailed Project Reports. Teams that successfully complete the Detailed Project Report stage will be invited to the competition finals to present their projects to the jury.
