Organised by Innosuisse under the Swiss EUREKA Chairmanship, the 2026 event will take place on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, at Messe Basel in Basel, Switzerland.
The programme will include opening speeches on the future of biotechnology R&D and innovation, panel sessions addressing research and business topics shaping different sectors, as well as networking and matchmaking activities aimed at developing potential collaborations. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive information about programmes at the country stands of funding agencies from EUREKA member countries.
The Global Innovation Summit is open to venture capital organisations, academics, and institutions aiming to turn their ideas into projects through international collaboration. The main theme of the 2026 summit is biotechnology, covering areas such as diagnostics technologies, laboratory automation, digital health, therapeutics, medical technology, and industrial biotechnology. In addition, interdisciplinary topics such as digitalisation, chemistry, manufacturing, and quality processes will also be discussed.
The summit will take place immediately after the Swiss Biotech Day 2026 event, which will be held on 4–5 May 2026. This will allow stakeholders working in the life sciences field to participate in both events and expand their collaboration and networking opportunities.
Participation in the Global Innovation Summit 2026 is free of charge. Detailed information about the programme, participants, and registration can be accessed via the link[BKH1] . The Swiss Biotech Day event is subject to a participation fee and requires separate registration[BKH2] .
