Eureka Globalstars Japan 2026 Call is Open for Application

The 2026 Eureka Globalstars Call for Proposals with Japan will open on 7 October 2026. The call, launched under the Globalstars programme, provides an opportunity to develop joint R&D and innovation projects with countries that are not members of the Eureka network.

The call will be implemented with the participation of 16 countries, namely Japan, Türkiye, Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. 

Projects submitted under the call are expected to focus on the research and development of an innovative product, process or service based on international cooperation, with the aim of commercialising the project results. 

The call is open to all R&D fields, except technologies related to nuclear energy, drug development and regenerative medicine products. It covers a wide range of technology areas, particularly quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, electronics, energy and environment, biotechnology, advanced materials, medical devices, aerospace, mining and other industrial technologies. 

Applicants from Türkiye must be capital companies established in Türkiye. Projects must be carried out by a consortium including at least one company from Türkiye and one company from Japan. Subject to meeting this requirement, organisations from other participating countries may also join the consortium. 

In addition to the international project application, organisations from Türkiye are required to submit a national application under the TÜBİTAK 1509 – International Industrial R&D Projects Grant Programme.

Applications will be carried out in two stages: international and national.

Stage 1 – International Application:

Project partners must complete and submit the joint project application online via the Eureka application platform. 

Stage 2 – National Application:

Participants from Türkiye must first submit a preliminary application under the TÜBİTAK 1509 – International Industrial R&D Projects Grant Programme within the period to be announced by TÜBİTAK via email. Following the preliminary application, participants in Türkiye whose projects are found eligible during the eligibility check must submit their national applications under the TÜBİTAK 1509- International Industrial R&D Projects Grant  Programme through the relevant application system. The dates for the national application will be communicated by TÜBİTAK via email. 

Eureka Globalstars project applications will be processed in accordance with the rules of the TÜBİTAK 1509 – International Industrial R&D Projects Grant Programme. Companies established in Türkiye as capital companies are eligible to apply. Applications that do not meet these requirements may be returned without being evaluated.
