FOREST (FOrests, forestry, and the forest-based sector: REsearch and innovation for a Sustainable Transition) Partnership is a co-funded project that aims to mobilise research and innovation to accelerate the transition to a sustainable forest bioeconomy based on forest ecosystems.
Within the framework of the FOREST Partnership, the 2026 joint call entitled “FORESTPathways” was launched on 15 September 2026. The call brings together 36 partners from 27 countries to support collaborative research and innovation activities for resilient forests and sustainable forest-based futures.
The FOREST Partnership 2026 Joint Call aims to address research and innovation needs across the entire forest system while promoting collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and countries.
Within this framework, the FOREST 2026 Call aims to support projects under the following four main topics.
Call Topics:
Climate-resilient forest systems
Adaptive and multifunctional forest management systems
Timber and innovative wood-based products
Forest value chains, markets, and governance
Applicants must select the single topic specified above that best reflects the primary focus of their proposal.
Only international projects will be funded under the scope of the Call. In accordance with the rules of the international Call, a consortium must be established, and the international application must be completed through the FOREST Electronic Submission and Evaluation System. For projects involving partners from Türkiye, applications must be submitted both to the Call Secretariat and to TÜBİTAK. During the first-stage application process, in addition to the international application, Turkish institutions/organizations participating in the project are required to submit a separate national application to TÜBİTAK by the specified deadline. The national application must be submitted through the TÜBİTAK UİDB Project Application System (PBS) using only an electronic signature (e-signature). The national application deadline for the second stage will be announced by TÜBİTAK.
Prior to submission, the national application rules must be reviewed in detail. If the national application rules are not followed, the application may be returned without being evaluated. The FOREST Partnership 2026 Joint Call National Application Rules document is provided below.

An online Information Webinar on the FOREST Partnership 2026 Joint Call will be held on 1 October 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+3). Participants are required to register by 30 September 2026 via the registration link.
