Hyperloop Development Competition, conducted under the technical leadership of TÜBİTAK RUTE (Rail Transportation Technologies Institute) and coordinated by the Directorate for Science and Society, supports the development of different magnetic levitation and propulsion systems. The competition, organized in three different categories in 2026, aims to promote the university-level development of innovative systems referred to as fifth-generation transportation technologies and to cultivate highly skilled human resources in this field.
In the Performance Category, teams are required to race the capsules they have designed and built in line with the technical rules in a 208-meter Hyperloop tunnel. The Technology Demonstration Category is based on teams focusing on a specific subsystem and presenting this system in the competition, rather than developing a complete capsule. The Defined Problem Solution Category focuses on the development of academically grounded, innovative and feasible solutions to engineering problems that may arise in the design, integration, operation and safety stages of emerging full-scale Hyperloop systems.
The competition is open to associate degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctoral students studying in Türkiye or abroad. Following the evaluation of Test Videos in the Performance and Technology Demonstration Categories and Reports in the Defined Problem Solution Category, the teams that met the required criteria have qualified to compete in the final stage.
Evaluation results are available on the KYS portal.
We sincerely thank all participating teams for their efforts and congratulate the teams that have qualified as finalists.
