Türkiye is a member of The International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), since 1989. ICGEB provides financial support to researchers working in the fields of basic life sciences, health services, industrial and agricultural biotechnology and bioengineering. Applications for ICGEB Doctoral and Postdoctoral Short and Long Term Research Fellowships are made twice a year, and the deadline for applications for the first term of 2026 is 31 March 2026.

ICGEB-DIC-MOST International Fellowship Programme (IFP) – 2026: Opportunity to do short-term fellowships in prestigious Chinese laboratories as a way of enhancing skill development, acquiring specific hands-on training in technologies available in the receiving laboratory.
ICGEB Fellowships for Scientists in Biosecurity: With the co-funding of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation through the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), BWC ISU, the ICGEB offers early-career scientists from OECD/DAC countries a fellowship at ICGEB laboratories in Italy, India, South Africa and at the ICGEB Regional Research Centre in China, to receive hands on training in life sciences and detection and response to biological threats.
