In line with Türkiye’s vision of being among the leading countries in the world with its original scientific studies on polar sciences, the Turkish scientific expeditions to the polar regions (Arctic and Antarctica) are annually organised under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute (PRI). The expeditions aim original, sustainable, and high-quality scientific research of Turkish scientists in Polar Regions, cooperation with scientists from other countries, while becoming one of the reputable countries having a voice in Polar Regions.
In accordance with these purposes, the scientific evaluation process of the projects submitted within the scope of the 2026 calls "KUTUP-1001" and "KUTUP Foreign Research Base Participation", launched by the Research Support Programmes Directorate (ARDEB) to support scientific studies related to the Polar Regions, has been completed. The criteria and procedure determined by Polar Research Institute and TÜBİTAK-ARDEB have been used for the evaluation.
