M-ERA.NET is an international cooperation platform established to strengthen the European advanced materials ecosystem and to enhance coordination and alignment among national and regional funding programmes supporting research and innovation activities in the fields of materials and battery technologies. Within the scope of the call, international research and innovation projects addressing the development of (i) advanced materials for energy-, sustainability-, or environment-oriented applications, as well as electronic applications, (ii) innovative functional materials, and (iii) innovative surfaces and coatings will be supported.
The projects to be supported under the call are expected to foster the development of sustainable and circular advanced materials, the broader uptake of material technologies supporting the clean energy transition, the advancement of battery technologies and materials-based energy storage solutions, and enhanced digitalisation and environmental performance in manufacturing processes. In addition, in line with the objectives of strengthening the European Union’s industrial leadership and strategic autonomy, the call aims to enhance innovation capacity across material value chains, promote sustainable production and use scenarios, and deliver high-impact solutions with strong potential for industrial uptake.

Projects submitted under the call will undergo an international evaluation process, and the successful applicants will be funded by the respective national or regional funding organisations in their countries or regions of establishment. In Türkiye, applicants will be supported under the TÜBİTAK 1071 Support Programme.

Deadline for first stage (Pre-proposal) of international proposal submission: 12 May 2026 (12:00, CET)
Deadline for first stage (Pre-proposal) of national proposal submission: 15 May 2026 (23:59, UTC+3)
Deadline for first stage (Pre-proposal) national e-signature:20 May 2026 (23:59, UTC+3)
Deadline for the second stage of international proposal submission: 18 November 2026 (12:00, UTC+3) (Only projects positively evaluated at Stage 1 will be invited to submit a Full-Proposal.)
The deadline for the second stage national application, to be carried out through TÜBİTAK PBS for projects with positive results in the international evaluation of the second stage, will be announced by TÜBİTAK to the relevant parties later.
