Finalist teams have been announced following the release of the Training and Second Selection Stage results for the Hardware Category of the Quantum Technologies Competition, organized as part of TEKNOFEST.

Quantum Technologies Competition Hardware Category, conducted under the technical leadership of the TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME) and coordinated by the Directorate for Science and Society (BİTO), aims to raise students’ awareness of quantum technologies, develop their interdisciplinary engineering and problem-solving skills, and cultivate highly skilled human resources capable of contributing to Türkiye’s quantum technology ecosystem.

The Hardware Category of the Quantum Technologies Competition is a hardware-based competition that aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in physical devices, control–readout infrastructures, and experimental characterization processes that form the basis of superconducting quantum computers. The competition is based on a holistic approach that covers not only theoretical knowledge but also all stages of design, fabrication, measurement, calibration, and performance evaluation.

The competition is open to bachelor’s degree and master’s degree students studying in Türkiye or abroad. Teams that qualified to participate in the training stage took an exam at the end of the training. Teams that successfully passed the exam have qualified to participate in the competition final. During the competition final, the finalist teams will conduct various experiments and real-time measurements on superconducting chips placed in a dilution refrigerator system.

Evaluation results are available on the KYS portal.

We sincerely thank all participating teams for their efforts and congratulate the teams that have qualified as finalists.
