The purpose of the program is to support individuals who would like to pursue their doctorate degrees abroad for those have bachelor's degree on condition that they come back to Turkey. The students who plan to pursue a PhD program abroad in the scientific fields determined by the Board of Science, Technology and Innovation Policies and the TÜBİTAK Board of Directors are awarded a scholarship provided that they enrolled in a PhD program abroad within the scope of the program.
Within the scope of the program, scholarships are provided to those who wish to pursue doctoral studies abroad in the following fields:
- History of Science
- Energy Storage Technologies
- Pharmaceutical and Vaccine Technologies
- Advanced Materials Technologies
- Quantum Technologies
- Micro/Nano/Opto-Electromechanical Systems
- Internet of Things
- Robotics - Mechatronics
- Cybersecurity and Secure Digital Infrastructures (Studies in the fields of cybersecurity and blockchain)
- Satellite, Spacecraft and Launch Technologies
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (Studies in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing)
- Semiconductor and Chip Technologies
- Next-Generation Communication Technologies
Scholarship to be awarded covers two (2) years of doctoral education. Scholars are paid a maximum of $60,000 per year, including living expenses, tuition fees, and health insurance.
Individuals who intend to pursue doctoral education abroad in the research areas determined within the scope of the program, who are in their final year of undergraduate education, who have completed their undergraduate education, who are enrolled in a graduate program, or who have completed a master's program can apply.
The program is open to apply for all over the year.
Applications can be submitted online at TÜBİTAK Application Information System (https://tybs.tubitak.gov.tr/). Applications submitted by fax or other electronic methods or with incomplete documents will not be accepted.
Applications who pass the preliminary examination are taken into scientific evaluation. Scientific evaluation can be made through one of the evaluation methods of interview, consultant or Advisory Board. The candidate's scholarship application is evaluated based on his/her level of knowledge and academic studies in the field for which he/she is applying.
