The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) provides various scholarship and support programmes for scientists working in the field of life sciences. These programmes, which are financed by the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC) Member States and EMBO/EMBC global partners, provide grant, accommodation and networking support to the researchers.
EMBO Workshops provide funding for meetings that stimulate exchanges of the latest scientific knowledge in the field of life sciences. EMBO Practical Courses provide funding for courses that provide training in experimental techniques and promote the transfer of methodologies in these fields. EMBO-FEBS Lecture Courses provide funding for conferences on timely topics in biochemistry, molecular biology and related areas.
EMBO Workshops:
Eligibility:
Organising workshops in countries that are EMBC members or EMBO/EMBC global partners;
Organising workshops that are covering a topic from the life sciences and related to EMBO subject areas;
Providing a list of mostly confirmed speakers is required.

Benefits:
EMBO can contribute up to a maximum of 42,500 euros per workshop.
Workshops can be organised in face-to-face, hybrid or virtual formats. Additional funding of 5,000 euros (maximum) is offered for hybrid workshops.
EMBO supports the organizers by creating a dedicated workshop webpage, providing a poster to help to advertise the meeting and offering funds for speakers.

Organising practical courses in countries that are EMBC members or EMBO/EMBC global partners;
Organising practical courses that are covering a topic from the life sciences and related to EMBO subject areas;

EMBO-FEBS Lecture Courses:
Eligibility:
Organising conferences in countries that are EMBC members or in which a FEBS constituent society is based;
Organizing conferences with focus on training and career development in the field of biochemistry, molecular biology and related areas;
Creating the conference programme to include introductory lectures followed by state-of-the-art scientific talks, poster sessions, oral presentations, round-table discussions and tutorials to provide opportunities for participants to interact with the lecturers.

FEBS can contribute up to a maximum of 30,000 euros per conference.
EMBO and FEBS supports the organizers by creating a dedicated conference webpage, providing a poster to help to advertise the meeting and offering funds to cover the attendance of speakers and participants.
