TÜBİTAK Science High School Celebrates Outstanding Success in the YKS with Its First Graduating Class
TÜBİTAK Science High School celebrated its first graduating class this year, achieving remarkable results in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS). Among the school’s 84 graduates, 7 students secured 12 rankings within the top 100, while 32 students achieved a total of 58 rankings within the top 1,000 nationwide.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır congratulated the first graduates of TÜBİTAK Science High School for their outstanding achievements in the YKS. The school drew significant attention with the exceptional rankings achieved by its students in the national examination.
The achievements of the school’s first graduates stood out prominently. Thanks to their success in international science olympiads and project competitions, 6 students earned the right to enroll directly in universities, while 16 students gained additional coefficient benefits. Among the first graduates, the school achieved a 15th-place national ranking in the quantitative score category, as well as a 6th-place national ranking in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT).
These results clearly demonstrate the high level of academic achievement accomplished by TÜBİTAK Science High School, even with its very first graduating class.

In his statement regarding the achievement, Minister Kacır said:
“Established in 2021, TÜBİTAK Science High School has graduated its first cohort. Our students, who have achieved remarkable success in Science Olympiads and Project Competitions over the past five years, have made us proud with their outstanding results in the YKS as well.
Through TÜBİTAK Science High School, which we have established in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, leveraging TÜBİTAK’s knowledge and experience in science and technology, we will continue to provide every student with scholarship and accommodation opportunities, access to courses delivered by expert academic staff, the opportunity to utilize TÜBİTAK laboratories, foreign language education, and internship programs focused on scientific research.
With the responsibility of building a new scientific tradition beyond simply establishing a science high school, we will continue our efforts to educate the scientists of the future.”
Outstanding Achievement from the Entire First Graduating Class
Students from TÜBİTAK Science High School achieved remarkable success in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), with Aslıhan Buğa ranking 6th nationwide based on her TYT score. In the TYT rankings, 3 students placed among the top 100, 9 students among the top 500, and 22 students among the top 1,000 nationwide. In addition, 50 students ranked within the top 5,000, 60 students within the top 10,000, and 70 students within the top 25,000.
The strong performance of the school’s first graduating class in the quantitative score category also drew attention. Deniz Tepe achieved 15th place nationwide in the quantitative ranking. A total of 3 students ranked among the top 100, 11 students among the top 500, and 23 students among the top 1,000 in this category. Demonstrating the school’s broad-based academic success, 52 students placed within the top 5,000, 61 students within the top 10,000, and 67 students within the top 25,000 nationwide.
TÜBİTAK Science High School Students Achieve Outstanding Rankings in the YKS
Students from TÜBİTAK Science High School achieved remarkable success in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS). Aslıhan Buğa, Deniz Tepe, Tuana Gülpınar, Yağız Akbulut, Ahmet Emre Orak, Ahmet Karakaya, and Doruk Efe Kocaman secured a total of 12 rankings among the top 100 nationwide in the YKS.
In addition, Ahmet Emre Orak, Ahmet Karakaya, Ahmet Taner Özbay, Ali Osman Cihan, Aras İsmail Ünlü, Aslıhan Buğa, Berfin Besna Can, Deniz Tepe, Doruk Efe Kocaman, Efe Kılınçkıran, Elif Arslan, Elif Berra Demir, Emine Esma Temizer, Fatih Sürücü, Fethi Berk Sezer, Hamza Burak Ceylan, Kadir Kağan Şahin, Muaz Hazar, Muhammed Gökay Lokman, Rahmet Kaan Ceylan, Roza Dicle Yiğit, Selman Ergin, Tuana Gülpınar, Tuna Kara, Tuna Macif, Türker Yer, Yağız Akbulut, Yağız Kaan Tezcan, Yusuf Kağan Değermenci, Yusuf Tuğrul Altıntaş, Zeynep Mina Oruç, and Zeynep Su Karavar achieved rankings within the top 1,000 nationwide.
Thanks to their achievements in Science Olympiads, 17 students earned the right to benefit from an additional coefficient advantage during the higher education admission process. Among these students, 4 students also earned the opportunity to enroll in university without taking the standard university entrance examination, in addition to receiving the additional coefficient benefit, due to their success in international olympiads.
As a result of their achievements in project competitions, 5 graduates — Elif Berra Demir, Furkan Sakin, Gülsen Ece Özge, Kadir Kağan Şahin, and Ömer Utku Ünal — earned the right to benefit from an additional coefficient advantage. Among these graduates, Gülsen Ece Özge and Kadir Kağan Şahin also gained the opportunity to enroll in university without taking the entrance examination, thanks to both their additional coefficient eligibility and their achievements in international project competitions.
