23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day, which is the symbol of the bond established by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk between our children and our National Sovereignty, is the clearest proof that our children are the guarantee of our future and independence.
I would like to emphasize once again our determination to prepare our children and youth, who are the future of our country, for a future equipped with science and technology. In this regard, we are aware of the potential of our young people with our innovative and guiding vision in the fields of science and technology.
The 75 medals and 4 Honourable Mention awards earned by our secondary school and high school students representing our country in international and regional science Olympics within the scope of the Science Olympics Program in 2023 alone are among the most concrete indicators of our success. is one.
7 of our students won the Regeneron ISEF grand prize and won 3 projects out of 12 projects and 21 students who represented our country in the International Regeneron ISEF Science and Engineering Competition, the world's largest science competition held at the high school level, where the projects selected from the projects participating in the High School Students Research Projects Competition participated. 5 of our students won special awards. We proudly continue to carry our successes to the international arena.
We continue to provide science literacy to millions of young people with TÜBİTAK Popular Science Magazines and Books.
We offer our children the opportunity to experience and discover science through the events we organize in our Science Centres and Deneyap Technology Workshops. In this way, we increase our young people's interest in science and ensure that they are better equipped for the future.
We allow our young people to showcase their creativity and talents through events such as TEKNOFEST. We recognize them and encourage them to explore their interest in technology. Just like last year, this year we are offering our high school students a unique experience by choosing them to participate in polar research.
As TÜBİTAK, we continue to have an important role in Türkiye's technological transformation. By continuing our scientific research and development programs, we contribute to our country's access to advanced technologies.
Today, once again emphasizing the importance of national will and sovereignty, we commemorate the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades, and our martyrs and veterans with mercy and gratitude.
I sincerely congratulate your April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day and wish our children and youth to have a bright future in the light of science.
