TÜBİTAK showcased its latest technological developments at TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, where maritime and underwater technologies took center stage.

TÜBİTAK participated in TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland with its research centers and institutes. Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), the event was held at Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command. During the event, TÜBİTAK presented its domestically developed and nationally developed technologies and engaged with participants through a range of activities and exhibitions featuring maritime and underwater technologies.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın, who visited the event, toured the exhibition stands and showed keen interest in the maritime and underwater technologies developed by young participants.

TÜBİTAK Showcases Its Latest Technologies

Participating in TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland with TÜBİTAK Informatics and Information Security Research Center (BİLGEM), TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), TÜBİTAK Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE), TÜBİTAK Rail Transport Technologies Institute (RUTE), and TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME), TÜBİTAK showcased its latest technological developments and attracted significant interest from visitors.

The technologies developed by TÜBİTAK’s research centers and institutes demonstrated the progress achieved in Türkiye’s national capabilities and technological independence in the maritime domain. Developed by TÜBİTAK MAM, the Hydrogen Burner Catalyst, Carbon Dioxide Capture Mold, Transducer Element for Submarine Anti-Submarine Warfare Sonar, 420 kHz Mine Classification Sonar Transducer, and Submarine Active Sonar System Transducer were presented at the exhibition area to a wide range of visitors, from industry experts to technology enthusiasts.

TÜBİTAK BİLGEM showcased its capabilities in maritime technologies through the MÜREN Submarine Combat Management System, PİSİ-300 Intelligent Underwater Inspection Platform, and Magnetic Signature Management solutions. Developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, the MÜREN Submarine Combat Management System was made available for visitors to examine aboard the TCG 18 Mart submarine. This provided participants with an opportunity to see the system in operation on an actual platform.

The physical models of the PİSİ-300 Intelligent Underwater Inspection Platform, which can be used for a range of missions including underwater inspection, mapping, and port surveillance, as well as the Degaussing System, which enables safe navigation against mine threats by suppressing the magnetic signature of vessels, were also exhibited for visitors at the TÜBİTAK stand.

TÜBİTAK SAGE, which plays a leading role in the development of domestically developed and nationally owned ammunition and defense technologies, showcased its solutions that contribute to the defense of Türkiye’s Blue Homeland. In addition to the GÖKSUR Close-In Air Defense System for Naval Platforms, MALAMAN Smart Bottom Mine, SOM-J Cruise Missile, and KUZGUN-KY Modular Guided Munition, TÜBİTAK SAGE also presented the SGN-150D Marine Inertial Navigation System and the DATA–Maritime Testing Infrastructure, demonstrating its national capabilities that will further strengthen the deterrence of the Turkish Armed Forces at sea.

Meanwhile, TÜBİTAK RUTE showcased modernization solutions designed to enhance the technological capabilities of submarine torpedoes, along with prismatic battery cells that offer insights into the energy infrastructure of next-generation submarines. TÜBİTAK UME, for its part, demonstrated its deep-tech capabilities by exhibiting the Atomic Spin Gyroscope and Rubidium Atomic Clock, regarded among the most advanced technologies in quantum and precision measurement.

Workshops and Interactive Activities Inspired Young Participants

Throughout the event, TÜBİTAK’s research centers and institutes not only showcased the technologies they had developed but also organized workshops and interactive activities that provided visitors with memorable and engaging experiences.

The S-FORCE simulation solution developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, together with the Rocket Workshop and Canvas Painting Workshop, introduced children and young people to the excitement of aviation and space. Meanwhile, TÜBİTAK RUTE’s Energy Adventure: Lithium-Ion Batteries activity explored the transformation of energy in an engaging and accessible way.

Approximately 1,400 science and technology enthusiasts participated in the workshops organized by TÜBİTAK. The virtual reality (VR) game titled Time Keeper, developed by TÜBİTAK UME, took visitors on an interactive journey into the fascinating world of precision time measurement and science.
